Catalogue of Illuminated Manuscripts

The Getty Foundation has generously funded a project to revolutionise access to the extraordinary riches of the Harley Collection, which contains exquisite medieval and Renaissance illuminated manuscripts.

Adding digital images and descriptions of each
manuscript to our online Catalogue of Illuminated
Manuscripts makes it much easier for art historians
and other scholars to study them, and for a wider public to enjoy and appreciate them. By the end of this project in June 2009 we aim to have added over
2,000 manuscripts to the Catalogue.
