Higher Education partnerships

The Library’s HE Team have been working with colleagues in the higher education sector to develop a strategic plan linked to anticipated research needs.
A key project is the UK Research Reserve,
a partnership that will create a shared
national resource, and result in opportunity
savings for the sector.
Working with the British Library, Imperial
College is leading five university research
libraries in the pilot phase – Birmingham,
Cardiff, Liverpool, Southampton and
St Andrews. Duplicate copies of important
but lower-use research journals are being
identified. Material not already held by
the document supply service is being
transferred to the British Library. This
amounts so far to less than 3% of the
journals in question.
