Success Story of the MonthOver 75,000 entrepreneurs have benefited from using the Business & IP Centre since it opened in 2006. Every month we'll showcase some of the 'success stories' of the entrepreneurs and inventors who have used the Library to help them start and grow their business. August 2008: Ed Wray, designer of The BarbeSkewThe inspiration: Ed was motivated to design the BarbeSkew because he was fed up with eating badly cooked barbecued food. BarbeSkew is a hands-free barbecue that cooks food to perfection by combining the traditional BBQ with features of a spit roast. Visit the BarbeSkew website to find out more. Research and training at the Business & IP Centre: Ed used the Library extensively to help him find out if his idea was original, to learn more about intellectual property and find out about his market and competitors. Commercial success: Ed won the leisure category New Product of the Year Award 2007 at GLEE, an international trade fair. The BarbeSkew is available from a number of leading retail stores world-wide, including Harrods. Find out how you can apply to be a Business & IP Centre Success Story Video: Matt Casswell |
