This page concentrates on patent databases, both free and priced,
from anywhere in the world, plus copyright and other non-trade marks
and non-design material. Besides databases, British and then European
sources are favoured, as American sites are already well catered
for by gateway sites such as those listed below. Sources of legal
information and advice are little covered. This site is meant for
experts and you should ask if you are unsure about what you are
doing. Although we are willing to help we are librarians and not
experts on the law.
Because of the length of this page it has been divided into four portions:
this introductory page, Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.
The Internet is constantly evolving and new sites will emerge, whilst existing sites may change addresses or emphases. No liability is accepted for any errors of commission or omission. However, if you come across any problems in using the hypertext links, or have suggestions for further sites, please let us know. You are welcome to link to us.
It is difficult for those unfamiliar with patents to construct a search and then to interpret the results. We strongly advise in such circumstances that you use a patent library or ourselves first.
You may otherwise wish to use our Research service, which can carry out priced searches for you.
These are our other lists of links:
Unless otherwise stated the sites on this list were understood at the time
of compilation to be free to use.
The index below will help you navigate through
