Free guided group tours and Shop discount offer for Sacred: Discover What We Share
Free guided tours of the British Library's groundbreaking exhibition Sacred: Discover what we share (runs to September 23) are being offered to adult groups of 10 people or more booking as a group. Groups will also receive a 10% discount in the British Library Shop when they spend over £5.
The exhibition, itself free of charge, offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the general public to see the Library's collections of sacred texts from the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths. This is the first time that so many of the lavishly illustrated or decorated manuscripts and books are being showcased at the same time. Many of these have never, or seldom, been on public display, while others will be on show for the first time in the UK.
The group tours will focus on the exhibition highlights which include some of the world's most important, earliest surviving and beautiful religious texts. Exquisite and rare examples of Jewish, Christian and Muslim sacred texts from the Library's collections - considered to be one of the greatest in the world - are presented alongside treasures on loan from other institutions.
Tours are available Monday-Sunday. Booking in advance is essential. Places are still available in June and July but there is wider availability in August.
