Changes to security procedures: bag searches
In March this year, the British Library introduced public bag searching at the main entrance to the St Pancras building. Since then, we have kept the situation under continual review and have maintained regular liaison with the Metropolitan Police.
Because of ongoing security concerns, bag searches are now being conducted for all visitors and Readers entering the building, with effect from Friday 14 September.
