The British National Bibliography (BNB) records the publishing activity of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland and includes selective coverage of printed and electronic publications published since 1950, as well as information on new titles up to 16 weeks ahead of their announced publication date.

- Your BNB subscription can be delivered as a weekly MARC Exchange File, a weekly printed publication and as a monthly CD-ROM.
- The coverage of the BNB has always been selective with the emphasis being on mainstream monographs available through normal book buying channels.
- Other areas of publishing activity also contribute to the national bibliography. Government and other official publications, for example, are recorded in the catalogues produced by the Stationery Office.
What’s new?
- In co-operation with other organisations, we are currently developing plans for further extending the scope and coverage of the national bibliography. For example, records for UK online electronic resources also now appear.
